En plein cœur de la psychiatrie

Delivering psychiatric support directly and without hurdles to those suffering from mental illnesses – this is the mission that guides the Centres for Psychiatry in Baden-Württemberg, to which the Klinikum Schloß Winnenden also belongs. Thanks to its location right in the heart of the town of Winnenden, as well as its two satellite centres in Ellwangen and the Swabian town of Gmünd, the specialist hospital offers ideal conditions for psychiatric treatment that is less disruptive to the life of patients.

With its four specialist clinics, the Klinikum Schloß Winnenden offers a full-scope, requirements-based adult psychiatry service for a catchment area with around one million residents (Rems-Murr district, Ludwigsburg Süd administrative district and Ostalbkreis district). It specialises in the following fields:

  • General psychiatry and psychotherapy
  • Geriatric psychiatry and psychotherapy
  • Addiction therapy and withdrawal
  • Psychosomatic medicine and psychotherapy

Anyone requiring advice and treatment can then tailor this to their personal requirements in out-patient, day-patient or in-patient form.

The hospital can trace its roots back to the "Königliche Heilanstalt Winnenthal" sanatorium - one of the oldest psychiatric treatment centres in Baden-Württemberg, which has been treating those suffering from mental disorders since 1834. As the first Medical Director, Dr. Albert Zeller helped shape development of psychiatry in Germany with his humane treatment of the mentally ill.

Work and development right at the heart

As one of the major employers in Winnenden, the hospital employs around 1,000 specialist personnel in 60 careers and offers more than 80 training places for future professions. Alongside fair remuneration and secure workplaces, a large number of benefits ensure a high degree of satisfaction among the workforce.

In particular, these include the comprehensive support of motivated employees for both professional and personal further development. The attractive company health management system, which the hospital uses to promote the well-being of its employees, is also greatly appreciated. Further advantages include flexible working time models that help staff combine their career with having a family, as well as a company childcare facility that lightens the day-to-day load on parents with young children.
